Costa Rica's breathtaking Tarrazu region is synonymous with fine coffee. This rugged south-central part of the country has the altitude, volcanic soils and climate to produce one of the finest coffees in the world. Farms cling to the steep hillsides at altitudes of 1,400 to 1,600 meters (4,590 to 5,250 feet). Coffee matures slowly here in the rocky ground. This requires coffee pickers to return again and again, each time collecting only the ripest beans. Farmers take great pride in their valuable crop and rich coffee heritage. The beans that become Britt’s Tarrazu Montecielo coffee come from small and medium-sized farms. We dark-roast the beans to bring out a chocolaty flavor with just a hint of grapefruit. Strong and assertive, our Tarrazu is a favorite with both the coffee lover and the connoisseur!
