Coffee Tour

Day 1

First you’ll visit to the agricultural town of La Guacima, home to The Butterfly Farm. Inside an enclosed tropical garden, hundreds of Costa Rican butterflies flutter around flowers as trained guides explains about the life cycle and natural history of these fascinating creatures. On export days, guests are invited to see the sorting and packing of thousands of butterfly chrysalides as they are prepared for shipment. Then you’ll head to the fantastic hills of Heredia, the heart of Cafe Britt's plantation and roastery. You’ll learn and see first hand how a premium cherry turns into the perfect gourmet coffee bean. Have a coffee tasting session with an expert “sommelier” and enjoy a fresh buffet lunch at Don Prospero Restaurant.

Tortuga Island

Day 2

Tortuga Island tour. Experience blue water, white sand, green mountains, superb cuisine and attentive personal service. Calypso's super catamaran, Manta Raya, will pass thru more than seven islands in the Gulf of Nicoya. Her Port of Call is the enchantingly beautiful, palm studded Tortuga Island where you can walk the impeccable white sand beach, swim in the turquoise waters and investigate the marine life while the crew prepares a sumptuous feast (featured in Gourmet Magazine). Enjoy dining in the shade of white umbrellas with tables covered in white linen.

Arenal Volcano

Day 3

Located north of Costa Rica, the impressive Arenal Volcano is a natural phenomenon due to its permanent extraordinary and trusted volcanic activity, which on clear nights can seem like fireworks with intermittent explosions of ash and lava. During the trip we will go thru diverse plantations with agricultural products, ornamental plants and cattle ranches until we arrive at La Fortuna, for lunch in a cozy restaurant right in front of the volcano.  Before entering the beautiful gardens where the thermal springs are located we will visit Arenal Lake.  Here we can easily walk on a road next to the Park where we will look for toucans, monkeys, coatimundis and other animals.  Later we will visit the beautiful Tabacón Grand Spa Thermal Resort and relax in one of the best thermal water places in the area. Then a wonderful dinner will be served with a great view of the volcano so you will not miss any opportunities to look out for the incandescent light explosions. After dinner we will begin our return trip to the city of San Jose.
