Enjoy some fun facts about some of our favorite things on earth!


A coffee revolt broke out in Prussia in 1785 because coffee consumption was restricted to the nobility, clergy and high officials.   The heavy tea tax that the British imposed on the American colonies in 1773 not only resulted in the Boston Tea Party, it also caused more colonials to switch to coffee. Drinking coffee became an expression of freedom!   Richard Cadbury, the famous English chocolate maker, came up with the idea for the first heart-shaped box of chocolates in 1861.   Cookies may have been created by ancient bakers, who’d bake tiny dollops of cake batter on a cooking sheet to test the temperature of the oven.
