A flavorful salsa with bits of fresh mango, this chutney adds an exotic touch to baked meats. The Chutney salsa originated in India, where its fruit, sugar, vinegar and spices were crushed together using a stone. The name comes from “chatni,” the Hindi word for “to crush.” Bits of fresh tropical Costa Rican fruit give these salsas a chunky texture and tart sweetness that make your favorite meats come alive with exotic flavor.

“Jambo” is a very special word in the East African language of Swahili. It’s both a friendly greeting and a courteous response. If an East African were to say to you, “Jambo?”, it would mean “How are you?”. And if you were to reply “Jambo” it would mean, “I am very well.” We think it also makes a fine brand. These are 100% Costa Rican products created for Café Britt under the strictest standards of quality. Wondering how they taste? You have only to say “Jambo” to answer your own question – very well!

My husband is the best fan of Mango Chutney. It tastes so good on fish, pork and chicken. The hat does make it difficult to remove the cap.
