The jalapeño pepper takes its name from the Mexican city of Jalapa, the capital of the state of Veracruz. It is considered the world’s best-tasting pepper and is a key ingredient in Mexican cooking. It’s green and very aromatic. Its flavor embraces food without overpowering it. The jalapeño is often called the best flavor enhancer for any type of dish. Habanero, Jalapeño and Cayenne peppers are grown in the Costa Rican regions of Bagaces, Upala, Guápiles, Siquirres and Pocora at an altitude of 100 meters (328 feet) above sea level.

“Jambo” is a very special word in the East African language of Swahili. It’s both a friendly greeting and a courteous response. If an East African were to say to you, “Jambo?”, it would mean “How are you?”. And if you were to reply “Jambo” it would mean, “I am very well.” We think it also makes a fine brand. These are 100% Costa Rican products created for Café Britt under the strictest standards of quality. Wondering how they taste? You have only to say “Jambo” to answer your own question – very well!

this salsa is the best. this comment from a guy in the southwest.
This salsa is great for you you want a little pizazz but not a "set my taste buds on fire" type seasoning. It's great when added to food - does not not overpower. We love it!!!!
