Visited Costa Rica in December of 2007. Brought back a few different coffees. Ended up buying 10 more bags of Tres Rios and having them shipped. Gave some away as gifts. I pretty much had stopped drinking coffee, until I tasted this. No more Folgers in the morning or ever!
I have reflux, and this coffee is sooooo smoooth that I can drink it all the time, as I did when I visited beautiful Costa Rica. One of my favorite vacations!
I was in Costa Rica for a short time. Decided to bring home some bags of coffee as gifts. They were so eye catching. The quality came highly recommended by friends in CR. Everyone that I have given them to as gifts absolutley loved it. I had never tried the coffee until I actually got home and fell in love with it. This is the only coffee I have ever enjoyed without having to add cream or sugar. Rarely do I leave a cup unfinished - but cold, it is just as enjoyable. Smooth in taste with no after taste. And no matter how much I have, No coffee jitters!!! Love, Love, Love it!!

I traveled to Costa Rica several years ago on a surf trip. In the tour books, it said Costa Rica was known for their coffee and to buy lots of it so I followed their advice. I drank it in Costa Rica and have been drinking it at home since. I filled a duffle bag with it and brought it home to share. Thank goodness Cafe Britt put their website address on the bags, otherwise I would have been bummed to have run out before thinking to look on the internet. I have been ordering coffee from them since, usually 2 cases at a time. I love turning my friends on to simply the best coffee I have ever had. This coffee is good at any time of day. The aroma is outstanding, the smoothness simply cannot be missed and the finish is superb. Thank goodness I don't have to shop around for a decent coffee anymore. Starbucks was taking over here and their coffee is so burnt!
We bought this coffee when in St. Maarten and loved it. Our travel companions also fell in love with Tres Rios. When we came home, I looked in all of the stores - thinking I would find it. When I failed, I went on a "Google" mission and found this site. I purchased the coffee for myself and my travel companions as a Christmas present. I knew it would be a hit - and it was! Very bold AND smooth taste in one cup.
We visited the Cafe Britt coffee plantation in Costa Rica last April and enjoyed learning all about how coffee is grown and processed. When we tried some of the samples of coffee in the gift shop, we just kept going back to Tres Rios.
Tres Rios has a smooth yet distinct taste of good coffee. There are no hints of added flavors---just GOOD coffee. For us, that is what it is all about! It is a wonderful treat any time.

A friend visited your plantation in Costa Rica last year and brought me a bag of coffee. I had heard of coffee that was smooth but never had that experience till I tasted your coffee. Have been to Costa Rica many times and during my stay several years ago having my morning coffee at the hotel, the coffee was some of the best coffee I had in years. After that first trip I now have my mornig coffee which I grind from hole bean from britt, no one coffee from britt do I not enjoy, but I must say that Tres Rios seams to be the one with the most flavor and aroma for me,
I just wanted a good morning coffee not just a caffeine fix,
Recommend any one who is planing a trip to Costa Rica to visit the britt coffee plantation/tour very informative and a bit of humor to take home with you.

I had my first taste when I was on vacation in Costa Rica. I did not forget how wonderful it was. A medium roast that is perfect for anyone who likes coffee. The flavor and aroma are unbeatable. By far my favorite from Cafe Brit.

We were introduced to Cafe Britt in 2003 aboard the Brillance of the Seas on our Panama Canal cruise - Royal Caribbean had a special promotion at the time. We had been buying Tarrazu from a local grocery that had discontinued selling Costa Rican Coffee so this was a real treat for us.
My wife has a sensitive stomach and most coffee bothers her but Cafe Britt was an exception. In fact with Cafe Britt both of us have been able to enjoy our coffee either black or with some creaam and no sugar.
While this review is about Tres Rios - we usually order our 20 bag assortment with Tarrazu and Light Roast.
Just the simple act of grinding the beans fills our house with an almost Hypnotic aroma - and of course once ground we just have to have a pot brewed.
We often give our friends a bag or two for christmas and they enjoy it as much as we do.
If I had a wish it would be that Cafe Britt would sell "Tassimo Pods" so we could brew it a cup at a time

As I write this review I am sitting here sipping my cup of Tres Rios Valdivia, my favorite coffee. My wife and I went to Costa Rica for our honeymoon and had a fantastic time. The taste of all Cafe Britt coffees, but especially this one bring back the tastes and smells of the trip. The taste is amazingly crisp with no bitterness or burnt taste whatsoever, perfect for your morning routine. I now only make Cafe Britt coffees and typically favor Tres Rios and the new Poas but also enjoy the shade grown organic and dark roasts. If there is a downside to Cafe Britt coffees it is that they are so superior to our locally available supermarket and coffeehouse coffees that I don't want to drink anything else and Cafe Britt is only available here by mail order. One day somebody is going to realize that there is a lot of money to be made selling this coffee by the cup.

I WAS ON VACATION AND STAYING WITH FRIENDS,I WAS NOT A COFFEE DRINKER.THEY SERVED BREAKFAST AND THE ONLY DRINK AVAILABLE WAS COFFEE.SO,TO BE NICE I ACCEPTED, KNOWING I HATE COFFEE.THEN I TRIED IT,JUST A SIP,THEN A DRINK,NEXT THING I KNEW, I WAS ASKING FOR MORE!!I ADDED A LITTLE HONEY AND WOW!I'M OFFICALLY ADDICTED,BLACK OR WITH HONEY AND MILK,NEVER A BAD AFTER TASTE ANYWAY YOU SERVE IT!!IF THERE IS A REHAB FOR TRES RIOS,I'LL PROBABLY NEED IT SOON! My brother in law was a pilot and brought the coffee home. I was hurt badly in an accident and had to recover for a couple years - and I found your company on the internet. I'd never tried the tres rios so ordered it. I really think that having something this high quality on hand speeded up my recovery - no kidding. I was a coffee-hater until a friend introduced me to Cafe Britt coffee. At first, my husband and I enjoyed the Dark Roast blend, but when Tres Rios Valdivia became available, we tried it, and were instantly hooked. The Tres Rios has a wonderful rich aroma and flavor, but is smooth; never harsh and never bitter. It really is accurate to compare this coffee to a fine wine: the depth of flavor in this coffee is unmatched by anything we have ever tried.
I have tried the rest and settled on the BEST! The tres rios is hands down the best coffee I have ever tasted. Why waste your taste buds other cheap imitations, drink the best that is the Tres Rios!

This coffee is great with anything at any time of the day. The flavor doesn't overpower the flavor of your food, it compliments instead. There is no left over bite or bitterness. It is good all by itself too. There is nothing like holding a steaming cup of Tres Rios while relaxing in front of a cozy fire as the snow flies outside. It is even just as wonderful on a hot summer day when served over ice. Try adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream to it for an extra refreshing flavor.

This was my first Costa Rican Coffee . My daughter returned home and brought me several bags.
I was hooked, No other coffee matches this for flavor,and smooth taste.
While traveling in Costa Rica for business I began drinking Costa Rican coffee. Bar far my favorite is Tres Rios. In fact, I have never been able to drink anything but CR coffee since. Simply once you have had the best it is hard to drink anything else. This coffee is never bitter, has a fantastic aroma, and is a favorite of all my friends. I take it on occassion to my office and I will make two or three pots and there is NEVER a drop left and I get a parade of people asking when what it is and where they can get it. This is simply the best coffee I have ever consumed.

My daughter and her boyfriend went to Costa Rica and other places last summer and brought back this coffee for me as a gift. I absolutely love it and have ordered it several times since their trip. I would recommend it and have to alot of my friends!!
All of Britts products are good, but Tres Rios is the best! I buy it for all my friends as gifts throughout the year!
We use it for personal use in the morning usually but it is great anytime of the day and our friends always comment on how they like it when we entertain.

A friend of ours brought this coffee back from Costa Rica. We thanked her for the gift but didn't drink it initally. After we opened the bag, we loved the smell, we brewed it, loved the taste and truly have been ordering it ever since. It is smooth and creamy in flavor, yet strong and yummy. I get it delivered to my doorstep and have turned many people onto it also. I have at least 3/4 friends buying it now. LOVE THIS COFFEE!!!!!!

As a frequent traveler I always take my Café Britt Bag (containing Café Britt Costa Rica coffee beans, French Press, coffee grinder and battery operated latte frother) with me wherever I go. It can be Puerto Vallarta where I drink lattes and watch for whales from our balcony (see picture) or on a cruise ship...wherever I go. I’ve been purchasing Café Britt by the case for years and drink no other coffee. I like my coffee strong and smooth not bitter. My lattes are always made with fresh ground beans and spring water and made in a French Press. Then I heat and froth skimmed milk with my tiny portable frother, add the coffee and top with a sprinkling of raw sugar and cinnamon. There’s no better way to start the day anywhere in the world!

Knowing I had this coffee to drink on a cold morning made going to work not so terrible!
After sampling coffees all over the world, I rank this coffee right up there as a best-all-around for flavor and aroma. It does not need whipped cream, chocolate, cinnamon or any other frou frou to make it taste SUPERB. Wake up to this and you will become a devotee!

This coffee is good but I like other Cafe Britt selections better. This coffee, even though I rated it 3 beans, is better then the average among coffee’s of other brands but I gave the 3 bean rating in relation to other Café Britt coffee’s. It is a smooth coffee like many of the Café Britt coffee’s are but it is has a slightly bitter aftertaste and lacks the depth to its taste that other Café Britt coffee’s contain.
Tres Rios is simply wonderful! Its fully body is only surpassed by its smooth finish. We have a cup every morning to start our day off right.

This is the best tasting coffee I have found in 61 years and I only found it because of a Vacation to Costa Rica. I drink coffee with cream and sugar and can still tell the difference between this coffee and all the other I have tasted including StarBucks which stinks.

After living in Costa Rica for five years I was absolutely astounded when i was able once again to buy CR coffee beans. I have introduced these to several of my friends. I will drink nothing else. I usually buy 20 at a time. I do not find any fault with any of the brands.

My husband and I stumbled upon Cafe Britt's Tres Rios by chance, but have not looked back since. We absolutely LOVE this coffee.
With coffee like this we went from using sugar and cream to drinking it black.

On a visit to Costa Rica 12 years ago I bought a pound of Cafe Britt, and fell instantly in love with it. No other coffee could compare to the excellent smooth full bodied taste. On my return home to Canada, I found their Website and have ordered it ever since. My favorite is the Tres Rios Valdivia mixed with the Cafe Britt Dark Roast. I buy the Whole bean and grind it fresh every morning. I get compliments everytime I serve it. It is so good!! You haven't tasted excellent coffee until you have tasted Cafe Britt!

I've been drinking Cafe Britt for about 10 years now and this is by far my most favorite coffee in their line, as well as in the world. It balances a full body without being overpowering, a smoothness and the ability to taste as great as its aroma would lead you to believe. Every time I go to Costa Rica, I take an extra bag just for the Tres Rios Valdivia. I love variety, but if I had just one choice this would be the only coffee I'd drink.
Tres Rios has a wonderful smooth, rich taste. I never drank coffee until having Tres Rios.

I drink Tres Rios Valdivia almost every morning. It keeps me going through my classes. This is quite possibly the best coffee I've ever had -- it's not too bitter, but it's definitely not weak, either. Every sip makes me smile.
