December is the peak of the coffee harvest in Costa Rica, when the familiar colors of the holiday season are reflected in the ripe red cherries and green leaves of the coffee tree.
So when we choose the coffee for our annual holiday blend, we are trying to share not only the best of Costa Rican coffee, but also a bit of the joyous spirit that the season brings us. This year we incorporated beans from three regions, each offering its own unique quality: the Western Valley, Palmichal de Acosta, and the Central Valley.
The result is a dense, aromatic coffee with a delicate acidity that starts with a burst of flavor yet stays on the palate. Flavor notes of orange and vanilla are highlighted by the pleasant aroma of orange blossom and honey, making for a perfect holiday treat.
