Both coffee and cacao beans have a long history in Costa Rica. Hundreds of years ago cacao beans were first used as currency by indigenous tribes. Before the introduction of coffee in the early 1700s, cacao was already a major crop in Costa Rica. Today, it is still grown in the lowlands where plenty of rainfall nurtures the trees.
Café Britt has combined these two beans that are not only native to our country but also universally adored by many. Café Britt espresso beans are carefully chosen by our coffee experts and then slow-roasted bringing the bean’s natural oils and sugar to the surface. The roasted bean is then coated in creamy dark chocolate.
