A Fresh Morning Caress

A must try for coffee lovers who crave the best. Backed by two centuries of expertise and nurtured amid cool volcanic mountains and an ideal climate, the coffees of the Tres Rios region are considered "the Bordeaux" of Costa Rica. Dark roasted, the penetrating, honey-nut aroma of Café Britt Tres Rios compliments the hints of plum and allspice in its elegant, complex flavor. This coffee caresses the palate with a memorable soft and friendly finish.

  • 100% Arabica SHB (Strictly Hard Bean).
  • Kosher certified.

Coffee Connoisseur

Start your day just once with this lively coffee and you’ll be hooked! These beans hail from a tiny region steeped in 150 years of coffee-growing tradition. Tres Rios is renowned for producing some of the world’s best coffee.

What makes it so special? A high-mountain climate, marked wet and dry seasons, and soils enriched by the Irazu Volcano provide nature’s optimum conditions for growing fine coffee.

This dark roast is a bit softer and more balanced. It fills your cup with a lively snap that’s bright enough for morning, but rich and complex enough to enjoy all day. Tres Rios Valdivia is a perfect single-origin taste experience.  Simply superb!

5.0 Delicious! A well brewed cup of amazingness

by from Kingston, On on

My boyfriend and I travelled to Costa Rica in January and have been talking about travelling there again this winter. One of the small pleasures of Costa Rica that we missed was the coffee! As much as we like our quotTim Hortonsquot coffee yup sounding like a stereotypical Canadian here, nothing compares to the coffee we had in CR. As a treat to remind us of our trip, I ordered 4 bags of coffee and 2 bags of chocolate covered candies. This one is the first one we tried and its delicious!!! We normally dont drink our coffee black but this coffee was so smooth and gentle for a bolder coffee that we had to try it black. We have already cut back on how much sugar we have to add to our coffee to cut the bitterness because this doesnt require much or any at all! Cant wait to try our other three bags bold, light, decaf. At this rate we will have to order again soon because we are enjoying it so much! Cost/Shipping: Great price for gourmet, quality coffee. Shipping cost was very reasonable less than $10 and it arrived in 5 days!!! So impressed by that. We didnt have to pay duties/taxes for customs so that was an added bonus. Very happy with have quickly it shipped to Canada and the affordability.

1.0 Awful taste and aftertaste

by from Howell, Mi on

Both my daughter and I tried this coffee and after a couple of slurps threw it and the bag away. The smell while brewing was ok, but the taste was very metallic tasting and there was an awful aftertaste. We made a second pot just to make sure. Our first impressions were correct. This is so far the only Britt coffee that I do not like at all.

3.0 Average Coffee

by from Howell, Mi on

I buy only whole bean and grind a 3 day batch at a time. I have bought a bag of every Costa Rica Coffee searching for good blends that suit my taste. This one didnt make the cut as it is not smooth enough and the taste just wasnt there when mixed with 1/3 CR decaf and 1/3 Tarrazu. Tarrazu is the absolute perfect mixer for me.

5.0 Great Coffee

by from Atlanta, Ga on

We toured Costa Rica and brought home 2 lbs. of the Tres Rios coffee as a souvenir. We have been drinking it every weekend since its our quotspecialquot coffee. Besides reminding us of Costa Rica, it is a great coffee! Flavorful, balanced, roasted without bitterness or burnt notes, with a nice lingering taste I just took another sip to check.
