5.0 Turned me on to coffee

by Summer from Boone, Nc on Oct 4, 2012

Okay.. I never enjoyed coffee, even through college I had trouble finishing a starbucks mocha latte.. but when my husband and I took a trip to Costa Rica, we decided to try their room service coffee. We were hooked. This coffee is delicious. Since then (May 2012), I have tried a bag of each Costa Rican coffees from Cafe Britt and enjoyed them all, but this ranks at the top. Everyone that I get to try it is hooked. What's really bad is that after our trip I found out I am pregnant, but I'm still attached to having a cup every day! Good thing gourmet coffee doesn't have as much caffeine!

4.0 Great taste, smooth, if bought in Costa Rica

by Buttahz from West Palm Beach on Sep 4, 2012

Have ordered this coffee a couple times, have also made several trips to costa rica. There is no comparison to the coffee purchased in costa rica. The ordered ground product looks like other cofee when the bag is opened. Ground is Brown loose and dry, compared to same coffee purchased and brought back within a couple weeks from business trip there. Maybe if was ground here would be different. Whole bean has similar issues. Not knocking the brand or value just wish the quality was the same in states as local.

5.0 Best Coffee Available

by Paul P from North East on Jul 7, 2012

By far, this is the best coffee around. My mom came to visit and she asked about the coffee as it didn't upset her stomach. I don't drink any other coffee.

Product Detail

From rocky ground

Experience Tarrazu Montecielo, a blend for the coffee connoisseurs with a penchant for perfection. Grown in the rich volcanic soils of Costa Rica’s famed Tarrazu region, these choice Arabica coffee cherries are ripened evenly at 1,400 to 1,600 meters, hand-picked, sun dried and dark roasted for a unique taste. Café Britt Tarrazu will surprise you with a flavor that hints of cacao and grapefruit and an aroma of aged wood and dark chocolate. Its intensity fills the palate, then fades cheerfully.

  • 100% Arabica SHB (Strictly Hard Bean).
  • Kosher certified.

Coffee Connoisseur

The beans from Tarrazu mature slowly, learning patience from their infancy. Sheltered by the Pacific mountain range, these sought-after beans share their sanctuary with colorful birds and enchanted forests.

Small towns and villages, each named for a patron saint, speckle this high-mountain region. Generations of farmers known for intense dedication to their craft have grown these particularly hard beans on small plantations nestled in valleys and perched on mountain slopes. The beans ripen slowly; requiring coffee pickers to visit each tree three to four times, plucking only the ripest beans, which are then dried under the Costa Rican sun. Café Britt works directly with family farmers to continue the nurturing process of these special beans. From the plantation to your cup, this coffee is patiently cared for with integrity each step of the way. The result is a strong coffee that fills your palate with unparalleled aroma, excellent body, and acidity reminiscent of sweet grapefruit.

Take your time... enjoy every sip.
