5.0 As good Shipped--as sipped in Costa Rica

by Pam, The School Trip Chaperone from Montgomery, Pa. on Sep 26, 2008

First sipped this coffee in the Gift Shop at the Heredia location of Cafe Britt: smooth on the taste buds, strong enough with no bitterness, a great aroma "it's what coffee should smell like" and thought it was the best coffee I have ever tasted. Packed some home, my husband agreed: "Best ever". Shipped a case home: I have given away one dozen bags of coffee and every person thinks it is the best coffee they have ever tried.

5.0 An aroma and taste that is hypnotizing

by Good Morning Sunshine from Selden, New York on Sep 26, 2008

Nothing like grinding fresh beans from this coffee selection in the morning and brewing them in a drip coffee maker. When grinding and brewing this coffee I feel like I am back in Costa Rica, visiting Cafe Britt but it especially remembering the beautiful mountain side where the beans are picked. I love this coffee!!

5.0 Non Coffee Drinker Falls in Love

by Amy from Green Bay, Wi on Sep 25, 2008

I was always a coffee wannabe, loved the smell, hated the bitter taste. That all changed this past summer when we had the opportunity to spend 2 weeks in Costa Rica. At a hotel near Arenal, we were served Brit coffee, my son had asked for it. I said I would try it because he begged me. I was amazed, it was smooth, like chocolate, the flavor bounced off my tongue. The staff said they were serving Brit Terrazu. Honestly I probably have had 5 cups of coffee in my life, now I am hooked, but only on Brit and I prefer Terrazu. In fact, I have already placed 2-20 bag orders. I have shared it with everyone at work and have had my daily supply with milk and sugar and I could not be happier. Brit Terrazu has turned a non coffee drinker into a Brit fan for life! It is the highlight of my day! Thanks!

Product Detail

From rocky ground

Experience Tarrazu Montecielo, a blend for the coffee connoisseurs with a penchant for perfection. Grown in the rich volcanic soils of Costa Rica’s famed Tarrazu region, these choice Arabica coffee cherries are ripened evenly at 1,400 to 1,600 meters, hand-picked, sun dried and dark roasted for a unique taste. Café Britt Tarrazu will surprise you with a flavor that hints of cacao and grapefruit and an aroma of aged wood and dark chocolate. Its intensity fills the palate, then fades cheerfully.

  • 100% Arabica SHB (Strictly Hard Bean).
  • Kosher certified.

Coffee Connoisseur

The beans from Tarrazu mature slowly, learning patience from their infancy. Sheltered by the Pacific mountain range, these sought-after beans share their sanctuary with colorful birds and enchanted forests.

Small towns and villages, each named for a patron saint, speckle this high-mountain region. Generations of farmers known for intense dedication to their craft have grown these particularly hard beans on small plantations nestled in valleys and perched on mountain slopes. The beans ripen slowly; requiring coffee pickers to visit each tree three to four times, plucking only the ripest beans, which are then dried under the Costa Rican sun. Café Britt works directly with family farmers to continue the nurturing process of these special beans. From the plantation to your cup, this coffee is patiently cared for with integrity each step of the way. The result is a strong coffee that fills your palate with unparalleled aroma, excellent body, and acidity reminiscent of sweet grapefruit.

Take your time... enjoy every sip.
