Tases as good as the beautiful area where it is grown looks. Lovely chocolate undertones. Very hard to brew it too strong. My favorite of Britt's speciality coffees.

We have always loved this Britt coffee. From the moment a friend shared it with us we've never liked any other coffee. It has the depth of a full bodied coffee without being over powering yet it's mild enough to be smooth and gentle for even the most picky coffee drinkers we serve. Everyone that we serve it for asks "wow, what kind of coffe is this, it's great".

Grown in the rich volcanic soils of Costa Rica’s famed Tarrazu region, these choice Arabica coffee cherries are ripened evenly at 1,400 to 1,600 meters, hand-picked, sun dried and dark roasted for a unique taste. Café Britt Tarrazu will surprise you with a flavor that hints of cacao and grapefruit and an aroma of aged wood and dark chocolate. Its intensity fills the palate, then fades cheerfully.

Coffee Connoisseur

The beans from Tarrazu mature slowly, learning patience from their infancy. Sheltered by the Pacific mountain range, these sought-after beans share their sanctuary with colorful birds and enchanted forests.

Small towns and villages, each named for a patron saint, speckle this high-mountain region. Generations of farmers known for intense dedication to their craft have grown these particularly hard beans on small plantations nestled in valleys and perched on mountain slopes. The beans ripen slowly; requiring coffee pickers to visit each tree three to four times, plucking only the ripest beans, which are then dried under the Costa Rican sun. Café Britt works directly with family farmers to continue the nurturing process of these special beans.
