5.0 simply the best coffee I have ever had

This is a wonderful coffee that is strong and full of flavor without being harsh or bitter in any way. It is truly smooth and delicious. I have been drinking coffee for almost 40 years and I fell in love with this coffee while visiting Costa Rica (a beautiful country). I was delighted that I could order it over the Internet and continue to enjoy it. If you have a way to grind it then please treat yourself to the whole bean variety. One of the things I look forward to each day is waking up with this cup of coffee. Go ahead....treat yourself and you won't be sorry!!!

We traveled to Costa Rica two years ago and fell in love with the coffee the resort sold, hence our introduction. Now we get it shipped to us.

5.0 Love Costa Rica and this coffee!

I discovered Britt coffees when I was in Costa Rica and went for a coffee tour and tasting. It was great fun and an informative experience. Of all the coffees I brought back and have purchased from Britt since I came back to the USA, I tend to prefer the "classic" Dark Roast for its ease on my digestion, its lovely flavor, its all-round use, and its price. I will be ordering this variety in the future from Britt, and no longer buy anything else locally.

Visiting Costa Rica for the first time in 1998, I had my first experience with Cafe Britt. Since then, I will go to any lengths to avoid other coffees, in the pursuit of having a cup of their dark roast magic. I receive their emails, and immediately jump on the free shipping deals. In fact, I recently shipped some to my Mom, who for years, was faithful to another popular brand in the US. She quickly fell for the Cafe Britt Dark, and often prods me to send her more! Having served in the US military for 20 years, I consider myself a coffee expert; both from the good and bad perspective. Cafe Britt far exceeds any other coffee I've tried. Their ability to continually put forth a coffee that is laden with quality; is admirable. The aroma, taste and quality of their product is above all consistent; each time I buy, I know that I am getting a fine product. I recommend to all.

The Central Valley’s high altitude causes the beans to mature more slowly. This makes them harder and less porous. Hard-bean coffees have higher acidity — a quality that brings out the coffee’s greatest aromatic features.  Hard beans also stand up well to a darker roast.
