Café Britt is a member of ASOBITICO, an association which supports public education in Costa Rica through the implementation of the International Baccalaureate Diploma in schools in different regions of the country.
In addition, the company donates textbooks to public schools, motivating more than 1,000 students each year to see education as the surest path to a promising future.
In order to promote the culture of coffee and its traditions and history in Costa RIca, Café Britt’s Coffee Tour is provided for free to selected educational and cultural groups. Through this program, more than 500 visitors from elementary and high schools, institutions for the elderly, foundations, and NGOs that work alongside vulnerable populations are received annually.
Britt supports the work of entrepreneurial small businesses in the countries where we have a presence. Well beyond actors in a simple purchasing relationship, we see artisans, farmers, coffee producers, and others as an essential part of our business. These strategic links are strengthened by a relationship that encourages and facilitates training, advice, and follow-up.
In light of this commitment to small producers, Britt partnered with the bank group BAC San José and Costa Rica export promoter PROCOMER on the Nuestra Esencia (Our Essence) trade fair. Held in 2016, the fair highlighted the innovative work of small businesses from different sectors that are working to promote Costa Rica’s unique traditions.
