4.0 Unusual Chocolate Covered Jelly

by Lambs100 from Toronto, Canada on Jun 5, 2009

Cafe Britt's Dark Chocolate Covered Passion Fruit Jelly is exclusive, not available in other brands which makes it so special. And the jelly has a very fruity passion fruit flavor. Almost finished half a bag at a time.

5.0 Indulge without guilt

by Little Susie Sunshine from Trinidad, Co on Jul 25, 2008

Just right when you want a big treat but not many calories because you can satisfy your chocolate cravings with just a small handfull of these little tidbits. Why? Because the dark chocolate coats the tangy passion fruit within and creates a terrifically satisfying sweet-tangy combination.

4.0 Mmm, passion... fruit

by Chloe Chocoholic from London on Jul 24, 2008

I love the really fruity flavour and freshness of these. They're great as a light after dinner treat, or as gifts for friends. The packaging is excellent, too.

5.0 A rare gem for passion fruit lovers!

by Wannabe Tica from Oviedo, Fl on Jul 23, 2008

I must preface this by saying that I am crazy about passion fruit. Recently, while visiting Costa Rica, I was wandering through Mercado Borbon desperately seeking fresh passion fruit (which are over $2 each at home and I heard were very cheap in CR). I didn't know the name for passion fruit en Español, so I did my best to describe them, which led to many comedic moments. I did finally find them- in Spanish they are called "maracuya," by the way. When we toured the Britt plantation in Heredia I was thrilled to find these little gems! They remind me a lot of a gourmet chocolate I once had by a very esteemed French chocolatier. I love the clean tartness juxtaposed with the earthiness of the semisweet chocolate. If you've ever had dark chocolate-dipped key lime pie in Key West, you know what I'm talking about. These are a real treat, and I'm doing my best to control myself with them!

Product Detail

Double passion for chocolate! The tangy flavor and alluring aroma of passion fruit are contained within every bite of our smooth gourmet dark chocolate. An exotic delicatessen directly from Costa Rica’s unique rainforests, created by Café Britt, just for you… the passionate chocolate lover.

Chocolate Connoisseur

We are drawn to the passion fruit for its name. But if you’ve tasted it just once, its perfume is most likely indelibly etched in your memory. Truthfully, it was not the swooning of a palate that gave this memorable fruit its name.

Early Spanish explorers were awed by the flower that precedes the fruit. They saw religious significance in its physical structure. Today the plant is widely known for its delicate fruit with hard skin and juicy, seed-filled interior. We pluck the sun-ripened fruit from our Costa Rican rainforests to make this sweet treat and coat it in dark chocolate. This combination of earthy chocolate and alluring passion fruit will transport you to the tropics. Indeed, it is almost a religious experience.
