by Bernie from Appleton, Wi on Dec 26, 2007

Cashews are perfect nuts, but adding the dark chocolate makes them devine.

5.0 Goes Great With The Coffee!

by Leon Fell from Aspen And Vail, Colorado on Dec 13, 2007

I ordered a bag of the Chocolate Covered Cashews one time on a whim while I was placing my usual order for Cafe Britt coffees. Oh My God! They were fantastic. I give them to my friends. I share them with my girlfriend. And, at times, I just love to enjoy them on my own, by myself, with a good cup of Cafe Britt coffee or with a "small" glass of Cafe Britt liquor. I only wish that the bags were bigger.

4.0 Fantastic Chocolate! Fantastic Cashews!

by Megan The Chocoholic from Albuquerque, Nm on Nov 7, 2007

We bought this product at the Lima International Airport. By the time we were in Miami, they were nearly gone! Super-dark chocolate underscored by salty cashews. These may be a little heavy on the chocolate for some, but I thought they were perfect!

Product Detail

Nurtured in the warmth of Costa Rica’s tropical climate, our prime whole cashews are delicately bathed in creamy gourmet dark chocolate to attain perfection. These festive crescents will add a warm touch to your party and be perennial favorite with friends & family.

Chocolate Connoisseur

Our chocolate covered cashews have lived a surprisingly long and complex life by the time you savor them.  Cashews grow on crooked, rather short evergreen trees only near the equator.  The bush-like plant produces a sweet, succulent fruit with a kidney bean shaped appendage where the nut resides.  The nut has an outer shell that covers both the edible kernel and a caustic layer of oil that must be removed before the nut is consumed.

Once the nuts are safely harvested and roasted, we coat them in quality dark chocolate using one of the most ancient forms of candy making called panning.  Egyptians first developed this process of coating nuts by rotating them in a bowl while sweet liquid was drizzled atop, evenly covering them.

Our top grade, whole kernel cashews are covered with a shiny, dark brown layer of chocolate.  It is a pleasant surprise to learn that this satisfying indulgence is not a guilty pleasure thanks to health benefits provided by both chocolate and cashews. Dark chocolate is full of antioxidants that are shown to lower blood pressure and cholesterol.  Additionally, not only do cashews have a lower fat content than most nuts, they are high in oleic acid, the healthy fat that also promotes heart health.
