Walter Ferguson: Babylon
Calypso legend Walter Ferguson breaks 30 years of silence with this testament to a musical career that spans seven decades. Recorded in the south Caribbean beach town of Cahuita, Babylon contains 13 themes ranging from the famous Calypso tunes “Cabin in the Watta,” “Callallo” and “Carnaval Day,” to more recent compositions like “Babylon,” a musical portrait of the street gangs of Costa Rica’s Caribbean port province of Limón.
Walter Ferguson reached mythical proportions in the Costa Rican Caribbean.
With Babylon he breaks a thirty-year silence to show he is the most important calypsonian in the country.
